Welcome,
Haere Mai

We wish to extend a warm welcome to Glenavon Early Childhood Centre. Join us so that your children can embark on an exciting learning journey through exploration and play, in an environment that empowers them to achieve their full potential, and become young achievers.

Our Centre is on the grounds of Glenavon School and therefore provides a seamless transition from early childhood right through to intermediate school (year 8).

Our vision is “to provide a foundation to enable a successful and productive life.”

Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or would like to make an appointment to visit.  We look forward to welcoming you!

What We Offer

Glenavon Heroes Role-Model Mentoring Programme

The children at Glenavon Early Childhood Centre are encouraged to choose a Hero. This could be a member of their whānau/family or someone they know and would aspire to be like.

Te Whāriki curriculum

Our Early Childhood Programme is based on Te Whāriki, the Ministry of Education’s early childhood curriculum policy statement. It is a framework that emphasises the learning partnership between kaiako (teachers), parents, and whānau/families.

Glenavon ICT programme

ICT is integrated into the Centre programme in meaningful ways. On-line portfolios and access to ICT devices to support children’s play and learning are an integral part of the programme.
